Results from the 2022 Book League Voting

Dear friends,
The Book League Committee gladly presents the winner of the 2021 Book League selection:

Bram Stoker's 1897 Gothic shocker introduced Count Dracula to the world, an ancient creature bent on bringing his contagion to London, the very heart of the British Empire. The most famous of all vampire stories, Dracula is a mirror of its age, its underlying themes of race, religion, science, and superstition. A compelling read, rattling along at break-neck speed, it is a modern classic. (From Oxford World Classics Edition.)

Per Book League Rules, Section A, Rule III, "The three (3) lowest ranked of the book candidates shall be removed from the list of candidates . . ."

Thus, the following three will be omitted from future Book League lists:

  • Ivanhoe by Sir Walter Scott
  • One of Ours by Willa Cather
  • Aeneid by Virgil

The Book League Comittee will do the hard work of consigning these three titles to the far reaches of unknown space. Meanwhile, please purchase Dracula, our 2022 Book League selection from Alibris, Biblio, or wherever else fine books are sold.
